1. What is a faxmail service?
 
Faxmail service is a value-added service of SingNet as it allows you to receive faxes through your Internet account without owning a fax machine.

 
2. How can I receive fax from Internet ? 
 
With the Faxmail Service, you will be able to receive faxes through your SingNet Internet account.  
 

3. What is a faxmail phone number?
 
A 8-digit virtual fax number is mapped to your internet account, that is if someone has sent a fax to your 8-digit virtual fax number, the fax copy will save in your Internet account. 
 

4. Can I choose my faxmail phone number ?
 
No. System will generate a virtual fax number.
 

5. Can I change the faxmail phone number ?
 
Yes, you may change the virtual fax number & per change request is $32.10.

6. How do I open the faxmail from my email ? 
  
It's just like an ordinary email, the fax copy was captured in an image format for viewing. 

 
7. When do I have to change the 7 digit virtual fax number to 8 digit numbering ?
 
You may change the 7 digit virtual fax number to 8-digit numbering with effect from 1st Mar 2002. For example, your existing virtual fax number is 234 1234, do add a "6" in front of the existing fax number.
 

8. Why do I have to change it to 8-digit numbering ?
 
SingNet is following the nationwide campaign that all existing telephone lines and fax numbers will be changed to 8-digit numbering. The faxmail service is therefore affected and you are required to update your contacts about the 8-digit fax number.

 
9. What will happen if I continue to use the 7 digit fax number?
 
You may continue to use the 7 digit virtual fax number till end of March 2002 but by 1st April the 7 digit numbering will be disconnected. The faxes will not reach your email account.


10. Does the faxmail service support G4 class fax machine?
 
No, it does not support.
